Mainan means toys in Bahasa Indonesia — but to me, it also means curiosity, imagination, and the little sparks that help children grow into who they’re meant to be.
Hi! I’m Yuyu, a Singapore-based dad of two and a front-end developer who loves building things — whether it's websites or memories with my kids. Over the years, I found myself constantly searching for toys that aren’t just fun, but also help children learn, explore, and develop essential skills.
And that’s how mainan.fun was born.
As parents, we’ve all been there:
Scrolling through endless product pages, reading conflicting reviews, trying to figure out which toys are actually good for our kids — and which are just colourful plastic.
I wanted a place where:
Mainan.fun is my way of curating the best educational toys—from STEM sets to Montessori tools, from pretend-play kits to creative activities. Everything here is carefully reviewed with one simple question:
“Would I buy this for my own kids?”
If the answer’s not an easy yes, it doesn’t make the list.
Mainan.fun isn’t a giant toy store.
It’s a curated guide created by a parent — for parents.
I promise:
I built this site the same way I build software:
with love for detail, care for the user, and a focus on creating something that actually helps.
Outside of coding and parenting, I enjoy exploring how to make the web more delightful and useful. My personal site, yuurrific.com, is where I share projects, creative ideas, and things I’m building in tech.
Mainan.fun is a blend of my two worlds: fatherhood and building things that make life a bit better.
If you’re here, you’re a parent, aunt, uncle, educator, or someone who wants to give a child a meaningful gift. I’m honoured you’re exploring Mainan.fun.
Let’s make learning joyful.
Let’s make play purposeful.
Let’s make childhood magical — one toy at a time.
Welcome to Mainan.fun — Learning Through Play.
